What does life mean to you?

I just replied to the thread about religion so I wanted to make a thread about the meaning of life in your own terms.

Here is my meaning of life. I believe life is something that you should live to the fullest through the ups and downs. Many people are sick and would do anything to trade your life for theirs. But the main thing I believe is you should strive to make a memory of yourself and not just be a someone, if that makes any sense. But yes you should never take for granted.

Feel free to post below what you think.

Another quite interesting thread indeed..
Well I think there's a chance you only live once and that the human beings are just some sort of mutants that never were even supposed to exist but who knows..
Either way I believe that you can do and should do whatever you want, as long as you enjoy it and as long as it makes you happy then that's really all what matters I suppose because then you can't really regret anything.

Life is pretty shit but I try to convince myself that it's better than the alternative.

Just a fair warning, my take on life is rather cynical, or so people say.

I don't believe that there is any real meaning to living other than living itself; born alive in the world, just to die later on. I believe that you should do everything you want to do while your alive because you only have one chance. I also believe that there is no point in trying to be remembered because in actuality, you'll just be another dead person no matter who you are. Being remembered after you're dead is something impossible to experience by yourself, and so, is pointless to try and achieve.

In short, live how you want to live before you're dead and live for yourself rather than for others.

The whole world and life itself are truly so amazing and weird things basically anything is possible, there could be a meaning for everything but then again everything could have happened just out of random pure luck.
A couple of interesting things I've read a while ago:
Russian scientists claim that in around 30-50 years human beings will basically become immortal in a robot body because our organs don't last much longer than 100 years even if you live a healthy life. You can download your brains on a computer, all your fears, memories, thoughts just simply everything.
I think it was Russian and Japanese scientists or perhaps it was Russian and south Korean scientist either way they were able to clone all kinds of animals like rats, farm animals, cats, dogs and now they're attempting to clone a mammoth out of some bones, skin and some other stuff I really can't remember but either way the last mammoth lived approximately 10,000 years ago I believe it was (too lazy to Google again lol..)
Another interesting thing I remember was that a couple of scientists discovered some sort of an atom or particular or whatever that is faster than the light (some super weird shit) which basically means that it's possible to travel back in the time if you'd have the right tool(s)/machine for it, quite amazing isn't it?
Last thing: hundreds of years ago human beings lived approximately to around 30-40 years old now there's many people that live to 100 years old these days, some people even die at the age of 110-120 even though that's not too common. Men live now approximately to around 80-81 years old while women live to around 82-83 years old in Finland I think it was something like that the last time I checked.

The world is truly amazing. The amount of knowledge we have is extraordinary.

The amount of knowledge we have indeed is extraordinary but it's nothing compared to what we still may learn.
I doubt that we have learnt even 1% of what's left.

You're probably right. we still have 1000s of galaxies left to discover maybe even millions.

If I was to guess, I'd say you google'd the question and copy and pasted the first answer that was given. Don't get upset you have typical shit boring answers, you're not the only one.
Are you that stupid to think I would need to use Google just to comment what life means to me? I'm sorry if you find my answers boring but that's how I view the human life in "civilized" society- Just because i don't have some theory that "we're all working towards a better future" - As a species we're based on working for human benefits and that's all, The answer i gave was a short version so I don't have to fully explain the uselessness of human lives- you may believe that as humans we're worth something more and that we deserve more than other species but we aren't and don't- You may argue that "life on earth is special in itself" but in terms of maths we're not the only planet with life by far- we're nothing in the universe as a whole and there won't ever be a time where we understand the universe as it ever expands and humans are on a road to self destruction due to things like global warming and religious wars; If you want to believe that life is worth something go ahead but don't judge my opinion because you think "it's boring" I found my answer sufficient and if you don't that doesn't matter to me at all.

To be honest, I stopped reading at this point as it bored me. Since when did I say you need to google just to comment? I basically said it seemed like you did with a typical boring answer that you gave. I never expected a book on life. I just said it's boring, can't anyone have their own opinion?

This topic isn't based on commenting on other peoples opinions on life, it's based on giving your own opinion.

Yes, you're correct, but that doesn't mean I can't give my opinion on yours does it? When you look at other people's posts, you see they've put effort, every time I see this thread, I see the same typical answer, "live, work, die" and It's boring, what's so bad about me saying that, if that's what you think, then fair enough but me saying it's a typical answer is because it is. Not saying you're a bad person for it.

It's funny you can call other peoples' opinions boring, but can't will enough brain power to post your own.o_O
